Round 2 – $2.00 into $4.00 – Bought and sold in 1 hour!

2016-02-03 18.11.49So, today (Feb 3rd, 2016) around 5pm we sold that lovely little gnome from Round 1 for $2. Then, we left the kids mixed martial arts class, ran by Chick-Fil-A for dinner, and swung by the Goodwill before church. We had $2 BURNING a hole in our pocket, and were ready for Round 2 of The Doubling Project!

Admittedly, we were on the lookout for a calculator or something like that that runs cheap at the second hand stores, but sells well on sites like eBay. So we made a run for the electronics section and found a big old stinking pile of NOTHING. Bummer!

Then, as we were walking around a bit more, Jack and Kensi ran across a boxed “vintage” (it was from 2005, but was a 1970s model) Batman Scale Batmobile. Frankly, I wanted to keep it, but…

2016-02-03 18.24.03Anyway, this thing was only $2, but it was listed on eBay anywhere from $15 – $30! So…it was the purchase for the Round 2 flip! We figured we would have no trouble doubling our money on that, and maybe even get as much as $15-$20 for it.

Then we ran to church, and on the way texted a picture of the cool find to a few friends and family. That garnered an immediate response, and even a bidding war of sorts.

Long story short, within an hour of our purchase we had sold the car for a cool $15, including priority shipping to Virginia. The shipping label cost us $6.60, and after covering taxes and we had a takeĀ of $8.23! So, we carve out the $4.00 for round 3, and we put the remaining $4.23 into our misc account for future 2016-02-03 20.53.42expenses, taxes, etc.

2 rounds of the 20 in 2 days…we like where this is going!

Onward and upward…and onto Round 3 where $4.00 turns into $8.00!
